Paddle4relief held in perfect conditions

The sun shone, the surf pumped and this intrepid crew took up the challenge to paddle to Croyde bay from Saunton Sands in aid of the charity project Paddle4relief.

Flaming wheel of Death

Up early today for a bit of a strang one. Appledore book festival was launched this morning on Westward Ho! beach with the help of a replica World War 2 secret weapon. The Panjandrum, built by Starburst Fireworks, was fired at 7.30am as the dropping tide revealled the beach below the Pebble ridge. The 4oolb device proppelled by 36 rocket motors was an unknown quantity, with the authorities not taking any chances and closing a 1 mile strech of the beach.
