I’ve been getting to grips with a few bits of software new to me…..always the source of lots of swearing. So I thought I’d post my latest attempt. Several hours of tinkering and messing and I’ve finally worked out how to embed my own flash movies rather than having to post on youtube.
Soundtrack is “kindom of rust” by the Doves. Love the track and “Oceans of trust” was a good tenuous link.

“Croyde Bay”
Just as the weathermen hadn’t predicted we had a glorious day of sun to accompany the surf here on the North Devon coast. 6ft low-tide surf at Croyde and sun across our fair beaches meant it was another classic.
In November last year Jeremy Clarkson and the Top Gear team came to Instow beach in North Devon along with loads of Royal Marines, a couple of helicopters, beach assault craft and a bright yellow Ford Fiesta.

Thorndog - Lynmouth 16th Jan 09
Surf: It looked like we’d be on for a cracking high tide session up at Lynmouth this morning. Loads of long period swell, OK wind and reports of awesome 3-4ft sets reeling all the way down the point the night before. No such luck. The righthander was OK for bit (got a few nice action pix) but the car park uninspiring despite the sun. Read the rest of this entry »

Croyde 14th Jan 09
After a bit of mixup at home as to who was getting up and when, I made it down Croyde beach later than expected this morning. It was a couple of hours after high tide and the sun was trying to break through the high level cloud (which it didn’t) and the wind was a baltic offshore that had real bite.
