Well It’s been a massive effort, shackled to the computer for what seems and eternity sorting and editing, but photos from Goldcoast Oceanfest are now up and available to view. We had a great team of snappers again this year, with a couple of new additions. Well done to all involved

Croyde Surf Club are a hardy bunch and they proved that in spades on Sunday with the running of the Eyeball Surf Classic.

The first challenge of the morning was to get the marquee up and secured against the howling Westerly gale buffeting the bay, a feat that required greater number of heavy duty anchors than at any time in the clubs history, job done the BBQ was fired up the hot drinks flowed. At the begininng of the year I spent a couple of weeks shooting production and promotional shots for the feature length debut of  a talented director/writer by the name of Trevor Garlick.  “A wedding most strange” was filmed entirely in North Devon and tells the tale of Danny Weatherill  (played by Chris Finch) and his efforts to find love and get married in just 2 weeks before he loses his inheritance under the terms of his fathers will.

“2010 Devon Surf Team”

This is the happy crew I joined for a raiding party on the Spainish Maine.  The Devon team arrived to chants of “Green Army” and left a trail of amused & bemused locals as we went. Didn’t have great waves, but we had fantastic team spirit that grew as the trip progressed. Big thanks to everyone who made the teams participation possible. One day you’ll hear all the stories…but for now, just the facts!! Read the rest of this entry »

Down in not so sunny Spain (though the clouds just staring to break)  with the Devon Surf Team at the Atlantic water sports games 2010. Things are going well…. barr the odd missing phone, lack of swell and  occasional monsoon, more like Devon than I’d imagined. We’ve done the marching and a cheering and following todays layday the competition begins tommorrow with 1st round of the mens open at 9. Good luck everyone…keep you posted.

Poppy claims victory

The North Devon interclubs was hosted by Woolacombe Boardriders over the weekend. With Saunton Hotdoggers running their rescheduled 60′s Style Masters it turned into an old-fashion Croyde v Woolacombe face-off….without the fisticuffs off old.
