Just testing a bit of blue sky thinking today, wondering if its gonna workShare
It’s that time of year again as the Goldcoast Oceanfest family meets in a field overlooking the beach for a weekend of sport, music, fun and friends. Looking through this years program has jogged memories of years gone by, and the expectation for the weekend ahead no matter what the weather decides to do. Looks like an epic line-up of music for all three days and not just the big-name headline acts, there’s going to be lots of local noise to.
You’ll see me and the team snapping away all weekend so don’t forget to say hi and “smile for the camera “. Photos from Goldcoast will be available to view post event (once we’ve got over the fuzziness) Hope to see you there……Share
Pete Robinson centre with Museum Trustees Kevin Cook, Hugo Tagholm, Andrew Coleman and Richard Gregory
It was real pleasure to join the great and the good on Thursday night for the official launch of the British Museum of Surfing. Following years of tireless work a small band of surfing friends, led by founder Pete Robinson, finally got to to open the doors of Europe’s first surf museum, with the official ribbon cutting performed by Andrew Cotton and Ben Skinner. With music from Neil Halstead and beer from Skinners brewery the night was a fantastic celebration of the work done by so many volunteers and organisations and the realisation of a dream for Pete Robinson. Well Done!
Well It’s been a massive effort, shackled to the computer for what seems and eternity sorting and editing, but photos from Goldcoast Oceanfest are now up and available to view. We had a great team of snappers again this year, with a couple of new additions. Well done to all involvedShare
“Monkey n photog”
What better way to kick-off a weekend than being mobbed by a troop of monkeys? I can think of other ways of spending an afternoon, but it was a cool experience, apart from the live grub-worms that were dropped in my hand to tempt the fury feckers out! I was there on location shooting some specific bits n pieces but as a treat got invited to make a few friends. Got this shot holding the the camera 1-handed, bouncing the flash off the ceiling while the wee-man hopped around my shoulders(not often you’ll see a sober shot of me on the net!). Also got to make friends with a lempur, taunt some otters, lear at a lion and met a guy with a sofa made from the tail end of a Cadillac. Can’t wait to see what the weekend holds!!Share
I’ve sloped off across the border for a few days of family fun & sun at our favourite Cornish spot. Since the Bank holiday crowds have cleared out we’ve pretty much had the place to ourselves. Nice pulse of swell early in the week was pretty fun and with solid conditions predicted for the next couple of days it looks like its going to be interesting, just got to work out how many spots I can hit in 48hrs.Share
Despite the lack of sun I still managed to find a rainbow today, no gold though…..maybe next time eh?Share
Down in not so sunny Spain (though the clouds just staring to break) with the Devon Surf Team at the Atlantic water sports games 2010. Things are going well…. barr the odd missing phone, lack of swell and occasional monsoon, more like Devon than I’d imagined. We’ve done the marching and a cheering and following todays layday the competition begins tommorrow with 1st round of the mens open at 9. Good luck everyone…keep you posted.Share
