Pete Robinson centre with Museum Trustees Kevin Cook, Hugo Tagholm,  Andrew Coleman and Richard Gregory

It was real pleasure to join the great and the good on Thursday night for the official launch of the British Museum of Surfing. Following years of tireless work  a small band of surfing friends, led by founder Pete Robinson, finally got to to open the doors of Europe’s first surf museum, with the  official ribbon cutting performed by Andrew Cotton and Ben Skinner.   With music from Neil Halstead and beer from Skinners brewery the night was a fantastic celebration of the work done by so many volunteers and organisations and the realisation of a dream for Pete Robinson. Well Done!

Will at Woolacombe

When a smart gent about town is looking for a new suit he’s got a number of options: leg it to Burton’s or River Island, or maybe grab a bargain at Primark…but for real comfort, something that fits perfectly and is totally in tune with YOU, the smartest choice is getting a bespoke suit made by an artisan. Gulfstream surfboardsHad an intresting and varried day – lots of photo editing as per usual – but as the sun went down it was time to hit the mean streets of  Braunton in search of a location for some commissioned pix. It was cold and dark when we rocked up at the bowl but it was conveniently empty. Set up a few different shots and worked using remote lights, we where joined halfway through by a bunch of noisy teens who I feared would put an end to the shoot, but they just sat, watched and chatted amongst themselves until we left, when one of them gave a cheery “Bye”…nice. Here’s a quick peek just to keep young Willow happy.

Just as the weathermen hadn’t predicted we had a glorious day of sun to accompany the surf here on the North Devon coast. 6ft low-tide surf at Croyde and sun across our fair beaches meant it was another classic.croyde090414-18_oysters_breaking
